Zee Kannada Drama Juniors perform Beedhi Nataka on reviving Namma Bengaluru

Bengaluru, 2 December 2017 – Zee Kannada’s young superstars from Drama Juniors-2 performed live for the very first time at the Rangoli Metro Art Center earlier today. The participants from the reality show enacted a street play, reviving memories of Yesteryear Garden City Bengaluru and how it has degraded over the years, in the name of urban development. The aim was to create awareness among the public on how Bengaluru needs to be saved before it’s too late.

The play titled “Hello Bengaluru” was enacted by eleven participants from the reality show; participants included Amit, Vamsi, Anup, Aradhya, Alap, Preetham, Viksha, Sreesha, Harsha, Shravya and Sumit. The plot was curated in such a way that it kindled the spirit of every Bangalorean to save their city from the shackles of pollution, population, changing cultures and encourage each other to speak in the language of the land – Kannada.

Commenting on the performance, Director of Drama Juniors-2, Sharannayya said, “This season of Drama Juniors has given these children a good platform to learn some of the best concepts and genres that exist in theatre and acting; from our traditional Kannada theatre forms to Sanskrit scripts and different elements of international theatre. For the first time ever, we have stepped out of the sets and have given these children a chance to display their acting skills, without any retakes or interruptions. It is truly inspiring to see how these young children have taken it up as their responsibility to save Bengaluru from becoming another concrete jungle through this Beedhi Nataka.”
